ECO Platform Round Table
The ECO Round Table is a dedicated online discussion format offered by ECO Platform. It provides an interactive space to explore and debate topics of high relevance for the sector. Each session is held as a two-hour online event, focusing on knowledge exchange, practical insights, and collaboration among stakeholders.
The Round Table series is open to everyone. ECO Platform members can participate free of charge, while non-members are welcome to join for a fee of 125 EUR (net). Registration is required, and the participation link will be provided via a calendar invitation after successful registration.
ECO Round Table #8: Digital Product Passport (DPP) – Practical Implementation
On December 11, 2025, we held our Round Table on the Digital Product Passport (DPP), identifying key issues requiring further elaboration.
Conclusions from the previous session
The discussion during ECO Round Table #7 highlighted several critical challenges:
- Methodological aspects (worst-case logic, rolling averages, use of background data, unified product classification system, etc.)
- Responsibilities and liability related to DPP publication
- Data quality assurance and validation frameworks
- The need for stronger collaboration between LCA experts, manufacturers (technical and legal), and IT professionals
Focus of Round Table #8 – Practical Implementation
We now want to work on the practical implementation of relevant aspects in three groups, approaching the topic from three very different perspectives.

DPP Round Table – Breakout Group Topics
Room 1:
Input for DPP Standardization – Focus on CEN TC 350 WG 10 (Technical Perspective)
This group collects relevant input for CEN TC 350 (Sustainability in Construction Works), Working Group 10 (Digitalization).
ISO 22057:2022 (use of EPDs in BIM) requires revision to align with EN 15804+A2. Regulatory developments (CPR-2024, EPBD recast) increase this urgency.
The group in Room 1 will work on identifying potential solutions to close the gaps between existing standards (EN 15804+A2, ISO 22057 and others) and ongoing standardization activities.
Room 2:
Role of ECO Platform in Provision of Consistent Digital Data (Strategic Perspective)
This group will discuss future needs for digital data and whether data from the regulatory DPP will be sufficient for the market, particularly in anticipation of the EPBD transcription into EU Member States’ national laws.
If voluntary data is required to complement regulatory DPP data, how can this be ensured consistently – and what is ECO Platform’s role?
Room 3:
Preparation of Construction Product Manufacturers for DPP (Manufacturer’s Perspective)
This group will focus on how manufacturers of construction products can prepare for the generation and publication of DPPs.
Key questions include:
- Required investments and organisational implications
- Data sharing models and roles (manufacturer vs. data provider)
- Open questions and immediate actions
- Lessons from other sectors (textiles, batteries)
Draft Agenda
- 10:00 CET – Welcome and summary of the last RT on DPP
- 10:15 CET – Introduction to breakout sessions and hosts
- 10:30 CET – Breakout sessions presentation
- 11:00 CET – Breakout sessions brainstorming / discussion
- 11:30 CET – Short break
- 11:45 CET – Breakout sessions: collection and clustering of results
- 12:15 CET – Breakout sessions conclusions
- 12:30 CET – Main session conclusions
- 13:00 CET – Closing
Preparation and Participation
Unlike previous Round Tables, no introductory presentations will be given during the session itself. All participants are expected to familiarize themselves with the topic in advance by reviewing the ECO Webinar on November 13.
The webinar recording is publicly available → and should be reviewed prior to the event. This preparation is essential to ensure an informed, focused, and productive discussion.
Who Should Join
ECO Round Table #8 invites all stakeholder groups involved in or affected by the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
The session focuses on advancing the practical implementation of the DPP by addressing key methodological, strategic, and operational questions identified in previous discussions.
Participants will work collaboratively on concrete implementation aspects and contribute to structured input for ongoing standardisation and regulatory developments.
